About Us – The Loudoun Amateur Radio Group

The Loudoun Amateur Radio Group (LARG) of Loudoun County, Northern Virginia, was founded in July 1993. LARG is a family oriented club with a wide variety of activities and interests. Some of these activities include public service, emergency communications support, high altitude balloon radio, camera and video flights, fox hunts, contesting and.

The Loudoun Amateur Radio Group, as an Official Affiliated Club of the ARRL, can retain $15.00 for each NEW regular membership or a rejoining regular member who has not retained an ARRL membership for two or more calendar years prior to the application submission; and, can retain $2.00 for each renewing regular member including lapsed.

The Loudoun County Amateur Radio Group is offering its annual class this weekend to help area residents qualify for their Technician Class license. The free program has room for 70 participants and is open to all ages. The training is geared toward those who want to learn how to use ham radio for fun, disaster preparedness, and security.
